Making Tax Digital Compliant Accounting Software

HMRC have updated their guidance for Making Tax Digital for VAT to help businesses find MTD compliant accounting software.

The update lists software that has already been certified MTD complaint and also lists which software is currently under development in preparation for compliance. This new information should help businesses to decide whether or not they are eligible and ready to join the voluntary MTD VAT pilot scheme which launched on 16th October 2018.

From 1st April 2019 VAT registered businesses will be required to submit VAT returns using complaint accounting software. The software must comply with the requirements of the Making Tax Digital scheme, which aims to improve the efficiency of the entire UK taxation system.
